What to Do During the Monthly Checkup of Braces?

What is done during the fixed orthodontic treatment process, often called ‘braces’?

• The durability of the holders, which we call brackets and glued on the teeth, is checked, and if there is a broken bracket, it is glued back on.
• Depending on the condition of the improvement in the teeth, the wires passing through the middle of the brackets are replaced.
• The elastics that keep the braces attached to the brackets and are attached around the brackets are replaced.
• If the patient’s oral hygiene is not sufficient, necessary reminders are made about brushing.
• If the treatment is about halfway through, an interim evaluation is made by taking x-rays and photographs for interim recording purposes.
